September 1, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

This begins a daily segment on the Illinois Fantasy League Blog that will updated daily the playoff picture in the IFB.  Each day during the final week of the season, the blog will take a look at an updated standings picture, and who the first round playoff match-ups would be if the season ended that day.

Here’s a look at the relevant match-ups involving playoff potential teams this week, after Tuesday’s games:

  • All Balls No Strikes           4   –   6      Funky Cold Molina
  • Bambinos                          6   –   4      JSloan
  • Most Daring                      5   –   3      BJ Penn
  • Muse Academy Muses      5   –   6      2010 not a Holliday
  • Quincy Dirtbags                 2   –   8     BooBooCubs
  • Ferris Indians                     6   –    3     Anabolic A Rods

And now here is how the standings would look if those results stayed the same:

  1. Sparland Hilltoppers – 160-82-22
  2. BooBooCubs – 145-100-19
  3. JSloan – 140-102-22
  4. BJ Penn – 139-106-19
  5. Ferris Indians – 132-108-24
  6. 2010 not a Holliday – 134-106-16
  7. Muse Academy Muses – 129-117-18
  8. All Balls No Strikes – 122-117-25
  9. Most Daring – 125-121-18
  10. Funky Cold Molina – 122-125-17

And a look at the two remaining division races:

Lincoln:

  1. BooBooCubs – 145-100-19
  2. Ferris Indians – 132-108-24

Grant:

  1. BJ Penn – 139-106-19
  2. 2010 not a Holliday – 134-106-16

So with all that information, here is what the playoff match-ups would be as of Wednesday morning:

  • (1) Sparland Hilltoppers vs. (8) All Balls No Strikes
  • (4) BJ Penn vs. (5) Ferris Indians
  • (2) BooBooCubs vs. (7) Muse Academy Muses
  • (3) JSloan vs. (6) 2010 not a Holliday

Most Daring and Funky Cold Molina would miss out on the playoffs.  But the week is still early, and FCM is only 4 games out of 8th currently, while MD is only a half-game out.
