This is the first of the four playoff previews for the quarterfinal round in the Illinois Fantasy Baseball League.  This preview will take a look at the 1-8 match-up.

(1) Sparland Hilltoppers

  • Record – 165-79-20
  • Series record – 17-2-3
  • Reagan Division Champion
  • Has not lost a series since Week 4
  • 7-2-1 series record vs. playoff teams, 70-43-7 game record
  • 40-25-7 Reagan Division record
  • Finished 22 games ahead of second place team

(8) Most Daring

  • Record – 128-122-14
  • Series record – 12-9-1
  • Wild card
  • 4-6 series record vs. playoff teams, 53-64-3 game record
  • 27-31-2 Lincoln Division record
  • Finished season on a 4 series win streak going 28-16-4
  • Earned playoff berth on a tiebreaker against All Balls No Strikes

Previous match-ups:

  • Week 3 – Sparland Hilltoppers won 10-2
  • Week 18- Sparland Hilltoppers won 8-4

Based off regular season performance, Sparland Hilltoppers is the safest bet to win the IFB Championship.  Sparland Hilltoppers was the first to clinch almost everything; first to win their division and clinch a playoff berth.  Hilltoppers also finished a remarkable 22 games ahead of second place, and won their division by 34 games, the largest difference of all four divisions.
Most Daring will not go down without a fight, going on a 4 series win streak to close out the year just to make the playoff, and taking a game record of 28-16-4 in the process.  Sparland Hilltoppers will be a tough out for anyone, and the expectations are no less now that the IFB is in the playoffs.
