Week 1 Update

Normally at around this time, there would be a recap of the week’s action in the Illinois Fantasy Baseball League.  But since Major League Baseball started on a Thursday this year, making a 4-day week, action for Week 1 is going for the rest of this week, in addition to last weekend’s action.  So here’s what a recap will look like for this season…. Here’s a look at current results for Week 1:

  • Quiet TheRiot over Bad News Bears, 6-3
  • Muse Academy Muses over NIU Huskies, 10-2
  • South Side Cubs Fan over Triple Crown, 5-4
  • Boo Boo Cubs over Fernando Vina’s Goatee, 8-3
  • SouthSideSluggers over PujolsalwaysCardinal, 8-2
  • All Balls No Strikes over Quincy Dirtbags, 6-4
  • Most Daring over Good Wood Gang, 6-5
  • Funky Cold Molina over The Chosen People, 9-3

So taking into action those results, and if Week 1 ended yesterday, here is who would be leading each division:

  • Reagan – Muse Academy Muses (overall leader)
  • Lincoln – Boo Boo Cubs
  • Obama – All Balls No Strikes
  • Grant – Funky Cold Molina and SouthSideSluggers

And finally, the various leaders in each category:

  • Bugs Bunny Best Record – Muse Academy Muses (10-2)
  • Josie and the Pussycats Hits Leader – Muse Academy Muses (38)
  • The Simpsons Runs Leader – All Balls No Strikes (28)
  • Homer Simpson Home Runs Leader – All Balls No Strikes (11)
  • Fat Albert RBIs Leader – SouthSideSluggers (27)
  • Speedy Gonzalez Stolen Bases Leader – SouthSideSluggers (5)
  • Heather Average Leader – South Side Cubs Fan (.370)
  • Rainbow Dash Wins Leader – Funky Cold Molina (4)
  • Timmy Turner Loss Leader – 8 tied with 1
  • Chip n’ Dale Rescue Ranger Saves Leader – Triple Crown (4)
  • Herbert Walks Leader – SouthSideSluggers (2)
  • Wile E. Coyote – Most Daring/Bad News Bears (43)
  • Peppermint Patty ERA Leader – Good Wood Gang (2.68)

Isn’t it nice to name awards after things?  It makes it sound more official.

Again, all of this is just hypothetical at this point (although all the current stats are true) and just to show you how these recaps will work each week.  Tune in next Monday for the first official recap of the 2011 season.

Also of note, tomorrow will feature an interview with the winner of IFL Madness.  Stay tuned.
