Another week of action in the Illinois Fantasy Baseball League has been completed, and the season is in full swing now.  Before we get to the recap, I would like to apologize for a lack of IFB Theater this past weekend.  This past week and weekend was hectic, and I didn’t even have a chance to write one up.  The idea is still in mind, and I plan on doing it (hopefully) soon.

Now then, on to the recap of Week 5 in the Illinois Fantasy Baseball League…

IFB Week 4 Recap and Week 5 Preview

History was made in the Illinois Fantasy Baseball League this week, as for the first time in two seasons, a team pulled off a victory with a sweep of all the stat categories.  That means 12 wins, no losses, and no ties.  The feat was performed by the Muse Academy Muses in their match-up against Quincy Dirtbags.  It also automatically makes it the largest victory over a team in the history of the league.  Here’s a quick list of the top 5 largest margins of victory in the league’s history (ed. note: Word Press is weird about lists, so assume that #2 & #3 and #4 & #5 are tied):

  1. 12-0-0; Muse Academy Muses over Quincy Dirtbags (Week 4, 2011)
  2. 11-0-1; Ferris Indians over Bushwackers (Week 2, 2010)
  3. 11-0-1; All Balls No Strikes over Bambinos (Week 10, 2010)
  4. 11-1-0; BooBooCubs over Triple Crown (Week 19, 2010)
  5. 11-1-0; Sparland Hilltoppers over Ferris Indians (Week 19, 2010)

So with that history in mind, let’s look back on a Week 4 that broke a record or two, and turned the league upside-down:

Week 2 was a week of parody in the Illinois Fantasy Baseball League.  No one team dominated, as no one gathered more than 8 wins in a match-up this week.  Some teams were able to improve their standings, others were able to stay the course, and the rest fell further back.  Without further ado, here’s the Week 2 results…
